The
circuit, ¨Adventure in Mayan Land¨, is intended to show the
love and comprehension towards the Mayan World. Our job concentrates
on the conservation and support of local indigenous cultures. Our travellers
are oriented about the culture by a human approach. This tour include
some excursions of our sustainable tourism program. Home of the ancient
Maya culture, Guatemala has lots to offer: amazing archaeological sites
and tropical jungles such as Tikal; the living Maya highlands with the
colonial city of Antigua, the Chichicastenango market and Lake Atitlan;
the varied geography with rivers, lakes, volcanoes, and spring-like
weather year round. We will discover the secrets of the Mayan people
by having amazing and once in a life time experiences. You will come
in contact with true Mayan people and experience their way of life.
Explore wild conservation sanctuaries ridding is small boats trough
beautiful rivers full of vegetation that are considered a miracle of
nature where you will have the chance to see alligators, wood peckers,
wild ducks and pelicans. You will experience the real life of ordinary
people and visit a school located in the middle of a small jungle and
be a witness of the “out side the box” education. You will
also visit Kakchiquel and Quekchi tribes that during the conquest of
the Spaniards fourth great wars and left antique buildings behind. Finally,

Boat ride - Relaxing morning cruise
across the deep, blue water of Lake Atitlán, considered by
many to be the world’s most beautiful lake. This 900 foot
deep lake is surrounded by three towering volcanoes. Visit the traditional
village of Santiago Atitlán. Visit of the village home of
the Mayan Saint : Maximon - Look for fishermen in dug-out canoes
and women balancing huge water vessels on their heads. Continuation
to the beach of the San Pedro, swim in the lake - After lunch, hike (1hr)

Check out - 8h Morning drive into the Altiplano (highlands) of Chichicastenango visit the largest indigenous
clothing and typical (crafts) market in Central America. This marketplace
has operated continuously for over a thousand years. With Aventures
Tropicales SA, your visit is on market day, which draws hundreds
of vendors from all over Guatemala. Shop for wooden dance masks,
hand-woven huipiles and colourful fabrics. Next, visit Santo Tomas
Church, built in 1540. Here Indians practice their faith, blending
Mayan and Catholic rituals. Indian priests chant prayers in ancient
dialects, copal incense fills the air, and rose petals and candles
cover the church floor- Hike to Pascual Abaj – – Free time at the market

archaeology of the Mayan world. These magnificent ruins are known
for their detailed carvings and well preserved stelae.Visit
the Acropolis, Great Plaza, and Ball court. See the Hieroglyphic
Stairway where the world’s longest Maya text, with over a
thousand glyphs, is carved on 63 stone steps. See Altar Q, a rectangular
stone altar with carved portraits of all of Copán’s
rulers from the founder, Yax Kuk Mo, to the last ruler, Yax Pac.
Next, visit the Museum of Mayan Sculpture, where you will marvel
at a full scale replica of the Rosalila Temple, considered the greatest
Mayan discovery of the 20th century. Built in 571 A.D., perfectly

Hike to river up to “Siete Altares” and swim at the

river on the Bahia de Amatique at the Garifuna town of Livingston.
Going up river, one passes through a spectacular steep walled canyon
lined with jungle vegetation and wildlife. The river then widens
into a small lake, El Golfete, the shores of which are lined with
beautiful locations. We continue in our water expedition, we will
visit lagoons, a bird island, and a handicraft shop, visit of a
jungle school (Aktenamit) among exuberant vegetation

Check out – 8h Transfer to the archaeological site of Yaxhá,
located in the heart of the mayan biosphere. This region has an
amazing value in archaeological treasures, as well as wild life,
including birds, Howler
Monkey and reptiles. This site is considered by archaeologists as
a sacred and religious place. Tikal's noble people used to came
very often to celebrate rituals. To get to Topoxté, you need
to take a boat across the lake. Archaeologists have found bones
of a Mayan princess, accompanied by her royal story. As well, some
masks, a turtle and many other interesting objects all made with
jade have been found on the site.- 10h Visit by boat the archaeology
site of the Topoxté, chance to see the Moreletti
Crocodile --13h Lunch - 14h Visit the site Yaxha are archaeological
sites from the Classic Period. At her climax, Yaxha was a rest place
for Tikal's dignitaries. The Yaxha ruins are located in the heart
of the Mundo Maya (Mayan World) and were declared National Cultural

Tikal became the grandest of all Mayan
cities and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. This outer-worldly
site also served as the victorious rebel base in the first Star
Wars movie. Here, while the sounds of monkeys and tropical birds
fill the air, you will see towering pyramids jut out of the rainforest
canopy. Visit Tikal’s great plaza. See the Temple of the Grand
Jaguar and Temple II. Visit the Plaza of the Seven Temples and El
Mundo Perdido, the Lost World -Visit of the surrounded of a jungle
whose trees can reach 40 meters in height. In addition to the beauty
of the temples and pyramids, the majesty of the forest which shelters

Clothing Tips:
This is a casual tour. Casual wear is suggested for sightseeing and
daytime traveling. Dress code for evenings is casual. Suit jackets for
men and dresses for women are never required on the Guatemala tour.
It is recommended to wear drip-dry clothing (such as that offered by
Columbia, Ex: Officio and Travel smith) in the rainforest. Also, pants
that zip at the knee to convert into shorts are very comfortable in
the rainforest. According to itinerary, an hot jacket for the trek at
the Pacaya volcano. According to itinerary, an sleeping bag for camp.
What
is not included in the tour price?
Prices do not include air travel, airport porters, airport exit tax,
visas, phone calls, laundry, all items of a personal nature, extra food
and beverages not on the regular menu, and tips to Guides, hotel, restaurants,
Boat Driver and Bus Driver. *Museum's entrances.
Can
your tours be enjoyed by all age groups?
Usually, you find a mix of different age adult travelers on a Aventures
Tropicales. Most tours will be joined by adults of all ages.
How
long will each day be?
Touring days begin and end at reasonable hours and include frequent
stops. While the occasional early morning departure is necessary, we
do our best to ensure a leisurely vacation and you will arrive at your
hotels between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. each day.
How
large will my group be?
Group sizes will vary depending on the reserved rooms at the hotels
and lodges and the capacity of the ships, and motor coaches used. Usually,
group sizes range from 6 to 12 passengers and more if is an special

meals included?
According to Tour Package: Included meals for each tour are listed at

specified in the individual itineraries. Beverages of any kind ( mineral
water, tea, coffee, beer, wine, liquor )are not included with lunch
and dinner. Baggage handling at airports and hotels is not included
in the tour. However, Baggage is at the owner's risk throughout the
tour. Check with your insurance agent about baggage insurance. All tips
to hotel and restaurant personnel, baggage porters are NOT included

are not provided for later post-tour departures; expect to pay around
$35.00 U.S. per person and allow 45 minutes by shuttle.
